We know, we know… (A few thoughts before Salem)

Dear Friends (both New and Ongoing!) of THE RUSH COLLECTIVE:

We're SO excited to come together with you at the historic Elsinore Theatre and celebrate the music and impact of a colossal band. All of our shows to date have been amazing / inspiring experiences for us, and we deeply appreciate the partnership with J-Fell Presents and LASER GATOR to create another opportunity.

Here are a few thoughts prior to the show (because we intend to do as little talking as possible and play you as much RUSH music as you can handle!):

We're five guys - mere mortals - performing the music of 3 rock titans. Geddy's role is divided among 3 of us, Neil's divided among two, etc. Our goal is simple - to honor their amazing music and present it as closely to how they wrote/recorded it as possible. We try to nail the exact sounds, riffs, and fills; there's no improvisation on our end. If it sounds like we've strayed: that's not straying, that's just as close as we could get. Alas, we're not them!

Alex, Geddy and Neil have an important place in our/your lives. Not just in terms of their individual craft and the amazing music they created together - for over 4 decades!!! - but also the men and the examples they set as performers, artists, prophets, teammates, and family men. Their struggles & traumas and they ways they faced them have lent strength and resolve to so many of us over the course of our own lives. In addition to their amazing music, which is so timeless, that's a gift that keeps on giving...forever.

This is all that we hope to bring to mind when you're at our show: your love of RUSH. Your awe of their music, their live performances, and their discipline. Your appreciation for the moments & memories in your lives where their music played such an important role, and the people that you've shared all of that with. That's why we call ourselves THE RUSH COLLECTIVE. Because RUSH has meant so much to so many, and it takes all of us to recreate some of that magic and remind ourselves of how great it is.

Big big hugs.

See you tonight!
